What is Call Waiting?

What is Call Waiting?

Now you never have to miss another call while you’re on the phone. With Call Waiting, a beep alerts you to another incoming call and allows you to put the first call on hold while you answer the second. This feature is easy to use and perfect for a busy home or office.

How to Use Call Waiting:

  1. A short beep in your earpiece while you are in the middle of a call means that someone else is trying to reach your number. If you want to end the first call, hang up. Your telephone will immediately ring with the second call.

  2. If you have not completed your first call, ask the first caller if you may put them on hold, then press and release the switchhook. If your phone is equipped with a FLASH button, use that instead. The first caller will be put on hold and you will automatically be connected to the second caller.

  3. Pressing and releasing the switchhook (or FLASH button) for about one second will let you alternate between parties. You can switch back and forth between the two calls as often as you want. Each conversation is absolutely private.

Call Waiting with Caller ID

Do you want to know who is trying to call you when you receive a Call Waiting notification? When enabled, the Caller ID function allows you to see the telephone number and name of the incoming call on a display unit or telephone when you are signaled by your Call Waiting service. You can then decide whether to accept or ignore the incoming call.
